Ranil seeks meetings with top UN officials
Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has requested for separate meetings with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanetham Pillai and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres to detail the opposition’s view on the situation of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Sri Lanka.
In two separate letters sent early this month, Wickremesinghe informed the UN officials that he had nominated Parliamentarian Jayalath Jayawardana, his party’s Assistant Secretary in charge of relief and human rights as his special envoy to brief them on the ‘pathetic situation of Sri Lanka’s IDPs, detained in camps in the northern part of Sri Lanka.’
I only hopr this would not be election stunt. UNP kept silent for the last five months about the IDPs and now sedding crocodile tears. It is to get the tamil votes in next election.

Men in holy saffron robe instead of preaching Dhamma, preaches politics and attacks Ranil for everything from CFA and GSP+. They vicious aim his political ladder and prevents his chances Presidency.
Ranil will be a good leader but he will never be the president of this country. Sadly, Sri lanka miss a chance for decent President.
Sri Lanka is country with immense potential for growth compared to the asian countries that overtaken us in the race for economic growth. If we do an impartial study that will reveal our policies are our enemy of growth. If we rectify our policies that give equal oppotunity to all, our prosperity is unstoppable.
