ACCA Sri Lanka, which held its 2009 graduation at the Cinnamon Grand in Colombo recently celebrated its professionals’ achievements by urging them to become integral drivers in Sri Lanka’s burgeoning industries. Chief Guest, Chairman of SLASSCOM, Ranjit Fernando, who recently signed an MOU with ACCA Sri Lanka to jointly promote the BPO industries initiatives in Sri Lanka, quoted the Mahatma stating, “Be the change you want to see in the world,” adding that each graduate will be increasing the impact they make in the workplace, industry, profession and economy.
“As graduates of ACCA, you will understand some of the challenges we face on issues regarding the sustainability of our global economy and the way we have done things up to now. You will be part of the exciting changes that will take place as we re-think our strategies to combat issues such as global warming, poverty alleviation and economic prosperity. Locally, the end of the civil war has opened up new opportunities for us and we need to grasp them to broadbase our economic growth. We need you, our future leaders, to drive change in your own spheres of influence in order to make a meaningful impact.”
