Cinnamon Tea enters market
Borne from a desire to put Sri Lanka on the world product map, is a unique blend of tea created by International Business Galaxy Ltd., (IBGL) which combines two of Sri Lanka’s most renowned commodities, cinnamon and tea.
Speaking to The Sunday Leader, International Business Galaxy Ltd. Chairman and C.E.O. Ajintha Wikramanayake said that this unique and original product is the first of many that will bring Sri Lanka fame and fortune.
The new product, Ceylon Cinnamon with Green and Black Tea is also a first according to Wikramanayake in making full use of the country’s natural resources.
An architect by profession, Wikramanayake turned his interests to the world of business in an effort to uplift the country and lives of ordinary Sri Lankan citizens.
Wikramanayake said, “Our mission is to make people believe that innovative and creative thinking coupled with the ability to visualize future success will bring relief to the nation’s poor. At a time like this when everyone is affected by the economic crisis, we need new ideas, new products but most of all, we need optimism.”
It’s these key aspects that contributed to the invention of Cinnamon Tea by IBGL.
Wikramanayake said, “We spent much time and money, research and testing, but it paid off. We have a product that can be sold to every corner of the world. When Cinnamon is mixed with exclusive Tea, the results are unbelievable and unique. It’s more than just a beverage, it’s a package of inherently healthy ingredients for the body and mind.”
Wikramanayake added that he firmly believes IBGL will be able to conquer a fair chunk of the world tea market with this new product. The targeted percentage IBGL will be starting with is 1%, which according to him amounts to 4 million kilograms.
The health benefits of Cinnamon Tea seem endless. As one of the oldest known spices and native to Sri Lanka, Cinnamon thrives in this country’s hot and moist climate. As a naturally sweet spice, Cinnamon adds a delightful spicy flavour and rich, enticing aroma when blended in right quantities of tea.
True Cinnamon is only grown in Sri Lanka and 95 % of world demand is supplied by Sri Lanka
Wikramanayake said that with the demand for tea never ceasing, IBGL’s product is at its highest potential to penetrate the world market as it’s a beverage that truly does wonder to one’s body.
Among it’s healing properties, Cinnamon is known for miraculously balancing blood sugar, restricting impotence at any age, reducing fat or flaccidness, removing pimples and a host of other benefits, too numerous to mention.
IBGL’s Cinnamon Tea is a product that emerged from an idea Wikramanayake had to change the patterns of lifestyles and even the economy.
IBGL’s Cinnamon Tea will be sold in a 200 gm stylish and new age pack both at home and abroad, with the local launch set to take place on November 10.
But as a new company with a new product, IBGL is looking to spread the wealth, success and joy around in a show of goodwill to ordinary Sri Lankans.
Wikramanayake said, “Our organisation is open and transparent and we’re looking to sell shares to the public, up to a 1,000 shares to a family and we’ll be giving back 20% of profits as dividends from the company’s gross profit, not from the net profit.
It’s a different business and we’re doing things differently, providing employment opportunities to many locals while also venturing into overseas markets, about 51 countries, providing these markets with a blend of tea like no other in the world, straight from our factory in Batapola.”
Wikramanayake said that Sri Lanka needs to see a change and despite the many economic hits the country has taken from the global financial crisis and even domestic economic turmoil. He said that in order for Sri Lanka to move ahead and prosper, faith and confidence is needed in the local business world, a faith and confidence IBGL seems ready to create.
