SLMC To Do A Vettu?

The Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) is likely to reconsider its decision to support the opposition in the event of a presidential election, The Sunday Leader learns. “In a parliamentary election we will most likely go with the opposition, however we will keep our options open in the event of a presidential election,” the party’s Deputy Secretary General Nizam Kariapper told The Sunday Leader.
He pointed out that when it came to a general election there were advantages in sticking with the opposition but there maybe disadvantages supporting the opposition in the event of a presidential election.
“For the SLMC, the strength lies in sticking with the opposition in a parliamentary poll, but the grassroot levels are not comfortable with the party supporting the opposition in the event of a presidential election, because they see disadvantages,” Kariapper said.

Thought that such decisions were based on principles and policies put forward bu y candidates not temorary advantages/ disadvantages…….. This really is a Land like no other
Peter , Channa…. its based on priniciples that SLMC is doing that – I am a hardcore UNPer and a muslim – if General Fonseka is the presidential candidate I will not vote for UNP…its because he thinks that minorities are not part of the country,…its the same principles that SLMC is working on…..The real politicians that are taking advantage by playing on racism is the Jathika Hela Fellows and Wimal Weerawansa Hired Mouth gang…not SLMC

Don’t be narrow minded,it’s about the nation not minority or majority, I too a muslim and a supporter of UNP,Who said Gen.SF is not supporting minorities ?? Hakeem and SLMCers are real racist in the country, they do politics for their own benifits by fooling the muslim community,what the late leader Ashraff did to the muslims ???,where is Rishard Badiuddin and others who contested in SLMC ticket ?? all of them are for dirty politics, Gen.SF is a national Hero, irrespective of relegion/cast/race we have to support him.

Well, very sadly still these so called Hakeem’s and their followers trying to take the Sri Lankan Muslims for a ride what ever the truth can be.The article above by Munza Mushtaq correctly state the word SLMC to do a Vettu… Vettu is the basic principle of the SLMC with hand full of money , they will do anything not for the interest of the country or community but for $$$$, Hakeem is a coward trying to capitalise and turn around anything for his own benefit ( money first).I would like to ask ” what authority do they have to tell they are the sole representatives of Muslims in Sri Lanka ” .Mr. Hakeem enough is enough please stop your dirty politics and quit in your mansions you earned out of it..I see you as a VELUPILLAI HAKEEM IN THE PROGRESS..SF is a great hero and a proud son of Sri Lanka ,,if you contest this ,,then well its up to the public to decide to consider you as a Sri Lankan.Probably cooray can be a good verdict.
