The graduates’ struggle

The unemployed graduates continue with their sathyagraha calling on the government to provide them with employment as promised. The graduates have pledged to continue with the agitation programme until they are given permanent employment in the state sector.

The Inter University Student’s Federation last week held a protest march from Town Hall to Colpetty against the alleged privatisation of the country’s education sector and the suppression of university students by the present administration. The protesting university students also called for the release of the Federation’s Convener, Udul Premaratne, who at the time was remanded.
