Japan Relaxes Travel To North and East

The Japanese Government has decided to relax its warning against travel to the north and east of Sri Lanka, the Japanese embassy said in a statement.

Following the policy change, the travel advisory now advises Japanese nationals to stay alert to the security situation and take necessary precautions.

When travelling to the northern province, Japanese nationals are now advised to “Consider whether or not to travel,” replacing the old warning not to travel at all.
