How come?

Kumaran Pathmanathan or ‘KP’ as he is popularly known internationally, is supposed to be the arms procurer and fund raiser for the LTTE.  He was flown to Colombo from Malaysia for interrogation, in Business Class.  While in custody he is afforded many luxury facilities; an Indian cook has been assigned to cook Indian cuisine for him. How come that Tissainayagam is suffering 20 years rigorous imprisonment?
