Ranil Factor
The role played by Ranil in the defeat of the L.T.T.E. has been forgotten by the masses, a man in the street told this reporter.
He alleged that it was Ranil Wickremesinghe’s ceasefire, when he was the country’s Premier, that led to the L.T.T.E. split, with the terrorists’ Eastern Commander Karuna defecting over to the Government.
That made the Government’s war against the Tigers’ easier, he claimed.
