Today I Saw A Tourist !!

I saw her walking the streets of Nugegoda at 9am

she was white (not fair white but sudha white)

blonde (not dumb blonde but blonde hair blonde)

was carrying a  supposedly clean bottle of filtered,purified water (since water drunk anywhere else in a poor 3rd world South Asain country such as ours, would obviously be suicidal)

Was wearing a beater and this flimsy skirt/pant get up one would typically find  in  a counties like Singapore,Malaysia or Thailand.

she was also walking with a certain air about her that said ‘ I want to feel Sri Lankan, be Sri Lankan, smell Sri Lankan etc’ (she was also alone but not a typical back packer kind either)

My bus pulled up so

I couldn’t keep watching her (didn’t want to really, or maybe I did, the lesbian in me might have found her hot ..who knows..the human mind is strange)

But one thing’s for sure, she wasn’t an expat,she wasn’t a very fair person .

she was definitely a tourist.

a small miracle you say?

I think not.

Tell me when’s the last time you saw a tourist in Colombo? (definitely not as many as we were told we would see after regaining ‘peace’ right?)
