Fonseka: I Will Win
General Sarath Fonseka confirmed his entry into politics at a well-attended press conference yesterday. General Fonseka said he would contest the Presidential poll under the swan logo with an unnamed political party. For a novice in politics General Fonseka’s handling of the questions posed at the meeting was exceptional. He was scathing in his statements on corruption and nepotism, stating that the war victory was not the sole preserve of any one family.
He confirmed that differences with Ranil Wickremesinghe and Mangala Samaraweera were in the past – the country’s needs were paramount. Promising an open economy and vowing to abolish the Executive Presidency, General Fonseka’s pronouncements were considered to be very much “on the ball.” The General denied any involvement with the assassination of Lasantha Wickremetunge, and promised appropriate investigations once elected.

When you win please dont repeat the past mistakes done by the former leaders and try to compromise. We hope that you will make every effort to protect democracy . In the present context a “CHANGE’ is imperative. The heirachy of the present government is intoxicated with “POWER” and their eyes are veiled . The whole mechanism is in chaos. They must be sent home at any cost. The General should win and he must practice what he preach if we wishes to set an indelible print as a patriotic Politician.

sf will at the very least give mahinda rajapaksa the shock of his life translate that to mean that the result will be something like 52% to 47% with the rest towards the non starters. Sri Lanka is set for the moyher of all elections – with apologies to Saddam – but Mahinda Rajapaksas superior ortorial and PR skills will see him through. We must all without exception applaud rajapaksa for his attemot to free srilanka from the vestiges of military rule and to uphold democratic governance. its all upto the voters they have the trump card in their hands.
