Mano Ganesan is a democratically elected leader. He has to take decisions according to the desires of the people whom he represents. The situation in the North and East is different.

In Sri Lanka particularly the North and East have been deprived of democracy and law and order for decades. Tamil politicians, LTTE and other armed groups exploited the Tamil’s grievances for their own benefit. This is the truth and we have to accept to build a better life for our people.

As the law and order disintegrated in the North and East, right minded democratic people did not come forward to represent the Tamil community as they would have had to encourage violence.

With the backing of the LTTE many persons who did not have a credible record appeared in Tamil politics. In the same way many anti social elements have been legitimised by the governments as political leaders for the Tamils. Most of them representing the Tamils in the North and east are not democratic. They make decisions just for political survival. They never have the best interest of the people they represent or the country at heart.

If Law, order, democracy and equal rights are respected these unsavoury elements will become extinct from the Tamil political arena.

Therefore, it is the responsibility of every one to give the mandate for the person who is sincerely committed for Law&order, democracy and equal rights.

The problem is with the leaders, they come to power by promising the undeliverable, then line their pockets, go back to the people for another term again with empty promises. The people are disgusted but cannot but vote more of the same term after term. Then some youths (JVP, LTTE, PLOTE etc) get sick of the lies, deceit, bribery, corruption etc and take to arms, those decent people who elected their leaders then tern to the rebels for some sort of reprieve this has been the patterns since independence when will all this change? Who is the genuine politician only time will tell

Every one speak about law and order, but when comes to real all swing around. This is the political situation in our country. Each citizen must take a solomn oath that we are going to adhere to the law and order, than only the politicians wont sway around. There must be a change in our political cultural and from the grass root level we must adhere to the law and order. And do away with the leader who do not adhere to the law and order, who ever may be what hights they may be in position. The voters must make this decision. Then only our country can go on progressive path. I appeal to the voters this time to think about it.

Can Mr Fonseka ensure that no kidnapping and money demanding by these EPDP/PLOTE guys? I understand that EPDP needs money and can only collect from Tamils. Why every government in Colombo unleash a set of dogs from Tamil community to keep the Tamils in check?

Can anyone stop this? Probably not. If it is stopped, the country would become a better place to live, especially now LTTE is gone.
