Rates & Waste

C.E.B. has cut the electricity connection to the traffic lights on Galle Road near Templar Road, Mount Lavinia allegedly for the non-payment of a Rs. 14,000 electricity bill by the Dehiwela-Mt. Lavinia Municipal Council (D.M.M.C.).

At the same, while this cut is on, on December 19, in bright daylight, the street lights along a section of Templar Road were merrily blazing away.
Who is footing the bill for this waste?  D.M.M.C. ratepayers?
