I HAVE BEEN A VOTER SINCE THE “FIFTIES’ AND HAVE ALSO WORKED AS
AN ELECTION OFFICIAL FROM POLLING CLERK TO PRESIDING OFFICER.
AT THAT TIME THE “PRESIDING OFFICER” WAS IN FULL CONTROL WITH EVEN THE POLICE OFFICERS AT THE BOOTH COMING UNDER HIS RULE.
I JUST CANNOT UNDERSTAND ALL THIS TALK OF “RIGGING” AND HOW ITS DONE SINCE, THE CANDIDATES AGENTS ARE THERE AT POLLING BOOTHS AND THEN ACCOMPANY TH “BALLOT BOXES” TO THE COUNTING STATIONS.
OF COURSE THE COUNTING WAS “CENTRALISED”.
IT IS JUST THAT WE HAD GENTLEMEN POLITICIANS, AND A PUBLIC SERVANTS WHO WERE NOT CORRUPT, THEN UNLIKE NOW.
TODAY EVEN THE “GARBAGE MAN” HAS TO BE GIVEN A MONTHLY ALLOWANCE. IT IS CORRUPTION FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.
WE HAVE NEVER SEEN CORRUPTION, NEPOTISM AND INJUSTICE AS IN THE LAST FOUR YEARS .WE CERTAINLY NEED A CHANGE !!!!!!1

MR has eradicated the LTTE for Tamils. Please note, apart from some occasional bombing in the south, it was the north that was affected badly by LTTE. Before LTTE, people can travel to and from the north without any restrictions. It was normal. Now MR has brought normalcy at a huge cost to Singhala soldiers’ families and the country. Tamils should be thankful to that. MR never had any contribution from Tamils for that normalcy. Taking HSZ etc will take a long time before we make sure the security of the country.
Tamils have the history of springing up the struggle in different forms. And the diaspora Tamils have promised that too. So we have to be so vigilant and suspicious on what they do.
Why do the TNA MPs support SF? They know SF is not clever enough to rule the country and they can fish in the muddy water. The corruption and things are bad, no doubt. However, can we really say that others are clean? They will grab as much as possible when they have chance (particularly SF is new and others have not been in power for long time). Sri Lankan people have to think carefully before voting. Tamils may vote for SF, not because they like him, but to make Sri Lanka messy again. They know with SF in power, the Singhala country will go down. That is the only way, Tamils have now to hurt the Singhalease people. We should not give them the chance.
Those who scream for change, should realise that we had the change with “No LTTE”. It is time for the people to start develop the country.
