Credit Card Outstandings Up

Credit card volumes and outstanding amounts moved in the opposite direction, with end October 2009 depicting figures of 848,259 and Rs. 37,730 million; a 0.5% decline and a 17.6% increase, respectively, month on month.

Comparative to end December 2008 figures, both indicators vis-a-vis October 2009 figures continued with their run in opposite directions, with credit card volumes recording a 7.5% decline, while credit card outstanding balance increased by 10.3% respectively in the period under review.
