Prabhakaran hounded for supporting Fonseka

Batticaloa Mayoress Sivageetha Prabhakaran appears to be paying the price for supporting defeated common opposition presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka.
The Sunday Leader has received information that goons of a controversial former rebel turned government minister with strong links to a paramilitary group in Batticaloa are continuously hounding the Mayoress harassing and threatening her over her decision to go against the President Rajapaksa led Government and support Fonseka.
Meanwhile, according to media reports, Prabhakaran has said that she will not be joining her former party, the TMVP but will continue to remain with the SLFP.

Lecturer, wife seek anticipatory bail from courts

A lecturer and his wife Friday sought anticipatory bail from Colombo Magistrate from being arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department of Sri Lanka Police for supporting General (retd) Sarath Fonseka in the recently held presidential election, legal sources in Colombo said.
Magistrate Mr. Lal Bandara Ranasinghe ordered the Officer in Charge of the CID to be present on the next date of inquiry and listed the case for further inquiry on February 12.
The lecturer, Chaminda Porage, who holds the post of Managing Director of a private institute, and his wife, in their anticipatory bail application, said both were being followed by unidentified persons and fear that they would be taken into custody.

Sivageetha Prabhakaran deserves it. How immoral to switch sides at the elctions? Definitely money played a big roll in this. Like the Matara Mayor, she deserved to be shamed for their sins.
