Government Should Leave Fonseka Alone!

by Voice In Colombo (landlikenoother.blogspot.com)

If anyone is feeling happy about the arrest of Gen Sarath Fonseka by the military police, I’m sure the majority of such people (if not all) must be LTTE sympothisers who were silenced for last eight months after the death of Prabhakaran. It was just eight months ago we celebrated as a one nation, the glorious victory over the world’s most ruthless group of terrorists. We hailed General Fonseka, other comanders of armed forces, president Rajapakshe and secratary of defence as national heroes who did the incredible job of bringing Sri Lanka under a one flag.

But today after eight months, one of the most celebrated heroes in that glorious victory is arrested by the same army he used to lead. Isn’t this a tragedy for our nation? Isn’t this the last wish of Prabhakaran, to split the forces which lead the war?

It is a real sad feeling I have in my mind about the way things are going forward with this whole “Swan Drama”. I thought it is all over, once Fonseka lost the election and realized for himself that politics is not the game for him. But sadly enough, he wasn’t allowed to stop at that point. The evil politicians who spoiled him and dragged him into this tragedy should be directly responsible for what has happened to this great soldier.

From the begining of my blogging about the presidential election 2010, I clearly stated that I am against the idea of Sarath Fonseka contesting the election.Even more, I was against the idea of him becoming the president of this country in a government where Mano Ganeshan, R. Sampanthan and Rauf Hakeem (all three are seperatists) holds high degree of power. I clearly stood behind the idea that Mahinda Rajapakshe should get a second term as president, not only because of his achievement in ending the war, but on some other grounds such as being effective as a leader in many other areas.

This is sad! This is really really sad! It sad to see after eight months of a remarkable team work, the same team which achieve the glory is now broken into two pieces by the exact evil forces who pulled from their leg. Never remember that, none of these people; Mano, Hakeem, Mangala, Somawansa supported Sarath Fonseka when he was leading the army in that war. Today, the same evil people have come together and took advantage of personal weaknesses of general Fonseka to convince him to believe that he can be the president. Greed for more power has earned Fonseka this fate.

I’m worried. What happened to Fonseka, could possibly happen to some others. Most probably in the future, we will see attempts by these people to break up the Rajapakshe brothers. Set one against the others and break their unity. It could happen, who knows?

My View About the Arrest Incident

The government was never fully transparent in the way they dealt with Fonseka after the election. That let more room for opposition to build a bigger fuss among people. In my personal opinion, government should have left Fonseka alone, after the election. They should have left Fonseka to contest the general election too. Because; more he do politics, more he will realize he is not fitting there. Government can easily walk over the next election, without this type of cheap acts of haressing opposition politicians. Opposition is already in enough trouble. They are still not decided whether to contest under Elephant, under Swan or under any other animal. This is far too much! Government had created another chance for opposition to gain public sympathy.

The arrest of Gen. Fonseka could go down as one of the most saddest events in Sri Lanka’s chequered history. Political vengeance cannot go beyond the rule of law and here it has. Political uncertainty cannot force those in power to act irrationally and disregard human rights and dignity. It has.

The DEEP Reason for the pushing Sarath away from the Elite Group of Singheela Ruling Supreme is……. Sarath Fonseka is from Berger Society. He and all the other Fernandos,DeSilvas, DeSoysas, DeMels,Matthews,Vaas and all the Portugese/Dutch/British decendants(who speaks beautiful Singheela language) can call themselves Sri Lankas; but the Reality is They are Outcaste and Unassociatelabels.

The way Those Elite Group kept Real Eelam People like Premadasa/Jeyawardane as Low Castes; those Crowds are PUSHING away the Berger communities as OutCastes.

Those crowds (when they are young and wanting sx) they go after the young boys and girls of Berger Community. Then once they enjoyed the white fair skin girls and boys, they just DROP them like sh..

This is the reality of Singheela Buddhist(Converted) Community of Eelam/Hela/Lanka/Ceylon.

A government is elected democratically, by the people for the people. How come suddenly Gen. Fonseka’s wrongdoings have come under the radar. First the allegation was as a U.S. Citizen he is not eligible to be a candidate for the presidential elections. Then came all allegations after elections were over just to prevent him giving is nomination for the General Election. The people of Sri Lanka are not fooled at all. There is a god above. Rigging elections and then winning is one thing, but to answer to the lord above is another. Why cant our leaders be straight forward and honest. I never realised Buddhists can be so backward and behave like primary school children. Feel sorry for them.

    The way God Works………

To destroy the Evil, God Hires the Necessary Evil……

Since 1956, the Singheela Buddhist Converted Eelam people KILLED Indigneous Eelam people.

The God couldn’t bear it and created the Powerful more than 5 Indigneous Fighting groups such as TELO, PLOTE, LTTE, EPDP, EROS, EPRLF and many more.

Those all EVIL Groups Killed PLENTY of Evil Killers from the Singheelam. Have they satisfied.

No, may be God’s Act has been finished.

    But the EVIL continues………

They way you said “THOSE EVIL PEOPLE” are from the Indigenous Communities DO LOOK AFTER the Buddhist Converted Hela People; Muslim Community People; Berger Community People; etc etc.

    Why…..

All these Incomers were from Mongolia; Arabia to Europe came to our Eelam to Live with Us. We have the courtesy and hospitality to look after them; BUT if they want to destroy us; then we know how to treat them very well. God may help us and we do our part as well.

As according to another website, the government in power offered the General to be made the Honourable member for Galle and if he had only accepted the offer, today he would have been a team member of the 120 member cabinet and he would have the latest bullet proof limosuines and his retuine of body-guards.

Stupidity, arrogance and cockiness, made him contest the election and now he is a state guest, as the majority of the sinhalese, he was sitting on his brains instead of thinking with it,, allowed himself to be misled by bankrupt politicians, now the most valuable Green Card, god bless his soul. a j.

SF said something right. he said muslims are just visitors. he is damn right.

        • Dilshan

Muslims came to Eelam 800 A.D. Portugese/Dutch/British came around 1500 A.D. Mongolian Monks came to Eelam 300 A.D.

Eelam People are Kicked out from Eelam since 1956.

    Dear Voice of Colombo,

I read with interest, about the Rajapaksa brothers. Basil, if one looks at history, is a ruthless ambitious guy. Look, he was in UNP too. If history repeats, as in Nepal, he might kill the Monarch and family in search of/reaching power.

How right you could be. Kassayppa kileed his father and ran to Sirgiruya. Now the Hornets there are wating for the next Killer to come running. Family Bandiysm most times end with fraterside, but in the case of this clan it will end with busted guts and slime.

OTHER “DEVOUT” BUDDHISTS HAVE TO SAY. ????????
I DREAMT, PRABHAKARAN ROLLING IN LAUGHTER,I AM NOT SURE WHETHER IT WAS IN THE GRAVE OR ELSEWHERE.!!!!!!!!!

THERE WERE NO SEPARATISTS IN THIS COUNTRY, UNTIL AN IMPATIENT
POLITICIAN,”S.W.R.D.” SEEKING POWER CAME TO POWER WITHE “SINHALA ONLYIN 24 HOURS” SLOGAN.” MUSLIMS AND TAMILS WERE IN THE TWO PARTIES AND THERE WAS PEACE. THERE WAS NO TALK OF EELAM THEN.
LET US BE FAIR BY EVERYONE.

  9. Does these commentators know who Major General Parakrama Pannipitiya is. Let me tell you; he was the commander that commanded the army to win the east for us. when Fonseka was in a hospital in Singapore, Pannipitiya commanded the army to beat LTTE from the east.

It seems Fonseka had developed or had a grudge against Pannipitiya. That is what is was proved in the end when Pannipitiya plead for relief from the supreme court. Somehow Pannipitiya is said to have spend six months behind bars on some drummed up charges. It is said Fonseka had blackmailed Pannipitiya to tender his resignation saying otherwise he will be tried on Court Marshall.

Do you know what happened there after. The supreme court found Fonseka guilty for violating the right of Pannipitiya. Now Fonseka is facing real charges. For one thing, General Fonseka is in a deep chasm now. Indeed in my opinion, Fonseka is on long haul flight to Bogambara.

We see General Fonsek’s wife sobbing like a child. Pannipitiya’s wife says she cried for six months while her husband was locked up in a cell by Fonseka. She says that it is ‘ditta dhamma wedaneeya kamma’ that has come upon Fonseka. Do you think so. I think worst has not come on Fonseka yet.

The law definitely is applied differently depending on the company you keep.

SB was imprisoned a few years ago for insulting the judiciary when he made a speech in anger against some supreme court decisions. (He was in the opposition then)

Same joker (this time in the ruling party) admits on national television to election fraud and intimidation at two elections. The result – complete pardon for his insult of the judiciary and appointment as the UNF organiser for an electorate.

Department of AG and police – are you really deaf, dumb and blind (Physically and mentally handicapped) or merely a lap dog after a few bones?

I dont know why general came to politics.. it is correct he has the right..but if you see in his meeting how many times he said mahinda and all are sending to bogambara.. did this thuggery poltics did we heard in any presidental meeting before.. how ranil contest previoues meetings..all this thing this time increase..I think becacuse general have the army background..but when u are talikng in a presdiental meeting to be carefull..white flag story etc..so all the things unneassary..I am blaming JVP due to drag this general to politics,,beacuse they could not find a sutiable candiate from the party..they ruiend his life… I dont think mahinda have any thing with general. In 2005 how many pepole said mahinda got money from Helping Hambanthota..but after he won did he prison any one who was against him,, i think this mainly becuse of general speeches
