EC Gets Tough…Again
By Cassandra Mascarenhas
Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake has declared that he will not tolerate the widespread abuse of state property seen during January’s presidential election.
Dissanayake’s tough stand was officially announced in a circular sent out to all heads of state institutions banning all promotions, transfers and interviews for new recruits with effect from February 9, in view of April’s general election.
The new ban will be enforced till the elections conclude on April 8. The warning is aimed at preventing the abuse of state property during the upcoming elections. However, despite Dissanayake making a similar order during January’s presidential election, misuse of state resources was unprecedented.

At which election did Mr Dayananda Dissanayake NOT play this record? Would it not be more sane for him to just hold his tongue rather than going on and on saying one thing and allowing things totally different to happen?
Funny guy !!!
