Most of the UNPers would like the JVP + SF+SLFP(M) + other small parties, to have contested under the 'hand' symbol (hand symbol is now defunct). UNP+Muslim Congress+other small parties under elephant. All these parties to align with the UNF after the elections and or form the govt or be a very strong opposition.
