Ranee Mohamed is one of the fierce writers in Sri Lanka and she has done a good job reporting this news. When you see its usually females who get tortured in Sri Lanka, not males. Its because males are strong and females are too scared to let their voice be heard. But Ranee Mohamad and the whole Sunday Leader journalists let the voice of these suffering females be heard. Even Fathima Faika's story is the same. I say that the Borella Police refused her complaint because maybe they are friendly with Ms. Faika's husband. This is not a very good job. We should all help her to find her sons and i think i saw an article saying that she got her sons back. I thank Sunday Leader newspaper for publishing this story and i specially thank Ranee Mohamad for reporting it. This is one story of Females being abused by males and there is much more, so please publish them too. LET THE VOICE OF SUFFERING FEMALES BE HEARD!!!!!!!

Ranee Mohamed has done an excellent job. I have noticed that all those who wrote finding fault with her for not exposing the husbaand cannot even spell certain words of the English language. I am someone who has a masters in English Literature applaud this writer who has been diplomatic and nice enough not to dig out mud about the husband, but present the case from the wife's side. We have to let the police do the investigations. There is so much that a writer can do, and Ranee Mohamed has done all that. I bow to you for being a lady and not assassinating the character of a husband which I presume Ranee Mohamed never knew.

Who ever behind this should be brougt in to justice, this is very sad incident, this mother should be helped by giving the sons back, it looks like her mad husband is hiding the kids simply becuase to take revange on her. Sri Lankan police, religious leaders and all NGOs should involve in this case and help this innocent mother. It looks like the SL police is not duing the duty properly, Yes its obvious that easily you can buy the SL police officers in Borrella or some where else.

yes i agree with other comments, every coin has two sides even in the
court of law both sides should present their views, Petissioners are given time till objections presented.
We can see only one side.

What Seeni Mohamed says is right, Ranee Mohamed has to do more analysis,
I could could query a lot in that article. Try milk out more details of Fathima Faika's husband's detail from her, his profession his influence and her details to contact or meet her to solve his problems.

Dear Ranee & Seeni,

This article is clear enough so say that the Borella police is to be blamed. Initially, the police was reluctant to take action due to perpetrators political influence it seems. Melancholy thoughts of this mother to lose her TWO children are because the police neglected their duty.
My opinion is to investigate whose influence has been taking over, please bring them forward and ask them to resolve it.

All the best.

Ranee Mohamed , you are a jack ass. What did you gain by printing this article here. Cheap publicity for yourself. You have not given a single bit of news about the perpetrator. Did you do your homework proper. When you bring an issue also try to suggest some solution or at least show some direction how this person can solve the problem.

Please go back and do a complete investigation. Ask what the police have done so far. Then come back and report. You might even find the solution as well.

Good luck.

I'm shocked.

I'm truly shocked when I see this story. This being a true story disturbs me further. I don't have a lot of things to say. But, I'll tell this bit. This is a clear sign of violence against women happening big time, and people going on with a don't carish attitude. Especially this situation is much prevailant in muslim societies. To end this on a pecimistic note, unless and until practical steps are taken to eradicate violence against women, we will be compelled to hear many stories of this nature.
