i agree with kumar.Mr.Hardy plz be careful with your words,expecially when you are talking against the holy spirit.Have you gone to the tuesday service.there is a mass conducted by a father and they give communion.plz attend more service and you too will get a word of knowledge, and i will pray your heart will be changed.

To me, what is absolutely ridiculous about Michael Hardy’s article is utter ignorance of the writer’s knowledge of the Bible, and he embodies all that is wrong with the Catholic Church and Catholicism as practiced today. He may be a Catholic, but certainly doesn’t seem to be a Christian. A Christian knows his Bible…Michael Hardy does not. He speaks of “speaking in tongues” as if it is something outlandish. Not if you know your Bible. The first congregation of believers (which incidentally the Catholic Church lays claim to as the first gathering of the Catholic Church) began with the Holy Spirit descending on the faithful and they in turn speaking in tongues. If you claim to be a any sort of Christian, whether it be Catholic, Protestant or any one of the denominations, you have to be believe that the message of the Bible is eternal, and not just for the people who lived during Biblical times. Miracles can still happen, people can still speak in tongues. You don’t lay claim to Christianity (or being a Catholic for that matter) by simply going to Sunday mass and receiving the communion. Over the last 50 years or so, a few enlightened Catholic bishops realised that Catholicism that was prevalent in their times had lost many of the practices and faith of the original movement, hence the origin of the Charismatic Catholic movement. You, Mr Hardy, are obviously one of the “traditional” Catholics who fail to understand what faith really is. Faith comes from an awareness of what you are incapable of, and what God is capable of. Going to Sunday mass does not make you a Christian. It may satisfy the obligations of claiming to be a Catholic. Mr Hardy, you show an absolute ignorance of the Bible. I am ashamed that you claim to be a Catholic. You are only a Christian by name, not by actions…and an utterly ignorant one at that. You are as ignorant about the Christian faith as are other non-Christians who know nothing of the Bible or its teachings. Please do not insult other Christians by claiming to be one of them.
