UNP Requests Security for Opposition MPs

Chief Opposition Whip and UNP parliamentarian Joseph Michael Perera called on the government to restore the security personnel allocated to opposition parliamentarians prior to the dissolution of the legislature.

Speaking during the debate to extend the emergency regulations, Perera said that, since parliament is in session again, the opposition MPs were entitled to receive the security personnel assigned to them prior to the dissolution of parliament in February.
