46,000 IDPs to Cast their Votes in Areas of Residence
The Elections Department has decided to accept 46,000 out of 52,000 applications received by IDP voters to cast their votes in the areas they are currently residing in.
Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake has made arrangements for the 6,000 rejected applicants to cast their votes in the areas they formerly resided in.
Some of the displaced are currently living in Negombo, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Gampaha and Colombo.
