Code-Share
SriLankan Airlines has expanded its route network to New York, Chicago, Athens, Cyprus, and Turkey by enhancing its code-share partnership with Etihad Airways.
There has been a steady increase in passenger traffic from the U.S.A. and Canada following the dawn of peace. They include Sri Lankans domiciled there. SriLankan’s network already serves the west coast of the U.S.A. with a connection to Los Angeles through Malaysia Airlines, and the addition of New York and Chicago would serve those on the east coast.
“Code-shares to Larnaca, Cyprus; Athens and Istanbul have strengthened the network in a region where there are large numbers of Sri Lankan migrant workers,” said the airline’s Worldwide Sales Head Mohamed Fazeel.
All five of these services provide direct flights to Abu Dhabi, with 12 onward connections to Colombo each week between SriLankan and Etihad.
Service to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport operates on a daily basis as does the flight to Chicago. Flights to Athens also operate on a daily basis, with the Istanbul service operating five times a week.
