Thursday Discussion: Ranil’s Makeover

BEFORE

AFTER

“It don’t matter if you’re black or white” – Or does it? It seems that Opposition Leader Ranil Wickramasinghe has adopted a new tactic to capture the hearts (and votes) of the younger generation.

Given his poor record in elections it remains to be seen if this new look will be the decisive factor in sealing a UNP victory this time around.

So tell us what you think – is black really beautiful?

    He needs “Vi” happy pills!

  2. [...] and photo via The Sunday Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has died his hair black. It doesn’t look so good. Mahinda has been [...]

  3. I haven’t heard anyone saying, RanilW is an unattractive man. I cannot understand how his new hair style can change his political fortunes. Indeed, if his hairdresser could have brainwash him to understand the political perception of the majority perhaps he could be an effective opposition leader.

You would have understood it better had you been a member of the Pettah Boy’s Club, and been in the company of such illustrious personalities such as Ranil. Mangala (the late Anura B)

I’d love to see all these three fools who have an adoration towards their mentor of Mahinda, as and when the economy gets tough and they’ve got nothing to offer the above three as usual will curse their mentor. Poorer and nastier will their verbal abuse be!!!. a Nation with a pariah status is a nation full of pariahs. War crime investigations will nevertheless be the agenda. So boast and toast!!! Leela and the others.

    • Intelligent as you are, its amazing that you don’t see the economy is picking up.

The sad story is that a great deal of you Lankans depend to work as slaves in the Middle east. Three years without ones family and living in dirty conditions doesn’t give you a boost in your economic prosperity. Slaves for the Arabs!!!

        • Even now, not may house maids are being recruited from Sri Lanka because they are not cheap any longer. And cheaper hands can be hired fro Bangladesh, India etc. If you go through local news papers you’ll see most overseas vacancies are for skilled trades and for professionals.

Wait and see; within five years only professionals will go for jobs abroad.

          won’t do

I would love to see / read the comments that my learned friend, the degreed Mr Palipane from Surrey, BC has to say

Come on Paliya, remind us, before we forget, that you have a huge ego !

Cannot debate in a quorom whereas all supporters, support a President who pilfered the monies of the Tsunami. Once a thief always a thief!!!! The Tsunami money was for the destruction and the reconstruction for the poor, it was not meant for the Presidents pocket, neither for his collaborators. TSUNAMI CASH THIEVES.

    • I like to here what do you have to say about those crisp dollar bills that were found in that bank locker about which the owner said it all belongs to SF.

      • panishkarsingh

That was peanuts sweetheart, maybe a load of money to you, peanuts to me. In Lanka its multiplied by 114.00 Rs. peanuts to me.. I have a suggestion why dont you become a free teacher in english, this will help export your compatriots to other nations. They are a monolingual specimen and this does not help them!!! something to think about. english schooling in Lanka is hellishly expensive. I’ll also come for the evening classes an maybe we could fall in love.

        • Look after your brains. Don’t go out on dewy days without a headgear.
One other thing, I am not a member of the Pettah boys club as Gundappa says above.

What is in a name or colour. We are not worried . We as a nation are not worried about electing a government which consist of men of some caliber; at judging by their past performances who will work for the good of the country. We are carried away by slogans that arouse our various feelings and we vote with our hearts not with our heads. Thanks to the constitution given by JR we can keep an EC in office as long as we want, cow him down and manupliate so we can win otherwise what is preventing the president getting the Constitional Council functioning. Do you still entertain any doubts as to the winner on 8th April 2010? Winnig the war is just one thing. But what did the 101 and the others at helm enjoying power do for the country of course they have helped themself in the name of helping for something else. Churchill who led England and the allice to victory lost in the election after war. are we capable of that. or we will be silent a fail in our duty by the country.

Colouring hair black does not change Ranil’s image of blind subservience to Western white masters.

It is high time for Ranil to question so called Western values when it comes to human rights violations and war crimes allegations levelled against Sri Lanka. He should expose the western hypocrisies in this regard, which are abundant.

Singheela Buddhist Monks LOVES the Boys and then those BOYS loves the Boys and the Boy-Loving Culture is in the Singheelam is very common.

Even the politicians used Berger girls for the Indian Politicians and Diplomats and Berger Boys for themselves.

  14. He looked better with his matured features with white hair. I don’t know who suggested this foolish make over. Now he looks like a wet crow. Moona hata pahai, Konde wisi pahai.

  15. A.Ranasinghe

This bugger is the biggest joker after “Andare”. One thing Ranil keeps us all entertained and at times he even beats his twin bro Mr, Bean!
