Additional Ballot Boxes For Digamadulla District

The Elections Department has taken measures to increase the number of ballot boxes allocated to the Digamadulla District.

While 860 ballot boxes were used during the Presidential election, the number has now been increased to 2,580 boxes.

Election authorities decided to increase the number of ballot boxes for the district due to the large number of political parties and independent groups contesting the April 8 general election.

According to Elections Department officials, the ballot paper for Digamadulla District would be 18 centimeters in width and 13 centimeters in length, and only around 250 of such papers could be stuffed into each box. There are 435,720 voters in the district.
