DPF Splits From UNF Over Mano Ganesan
Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe’s failure to allocate a seat for DPF leader Mano Ganesan under the UNP National List has led to the DPF splitting from the UNF alliance.
The party had come to this decision after the UNP did not heed the DPF’s warning regarding the National List slots that was issued on Tuesday. According to Mano Ganesan who failed to secure a seat in Parliament at the General Elections, the list had been agreed upon but had suddenly been changed by the UNP. He has also stated that there are no reasons left for the party to remain in the alliance.
The Government has supposedly extended an invitation to the DPF to join the Government after hearing of its decision to leave the UNF alliance. The DPF working committee is to meet tomorrow to take a decision on the party’s future plans.

Its not that tamil people let him down. he always contests in colombo but this time, unp asked to him contest in kandy as they know mano’s vote base will go to the unp and they thought mano will win in kandy, so 2 mangoes in one stone. there is not enough tamil people in kandy to vote for mano. atleast he should have tried nuwaraeliya
85,000 Tamils live in Kandy district, there is no Tamil politician elected for the Parliament,
But 70,000 Muslims are in Kandy district, Muslims got 4 seats in the Parliament.
