UNP’s Cader Joins Government
- Displeased With Party Leader’s Decisions

UNP Kandy District Parliamentarian Abdul Cader last week joined the government expressing his displeasure over the manner in which UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe was handling affairs of the party.
Cader told The Sunday Leader that although he was saddened to leave the UNP, of which he has been a member for the past 52 years, the party was being taken on a wrong path by the party leadership.
One of the key reasons for his discontent with the party leadership had been the decision of the UNP leadership to name three Muslim candidates for the Kandy District in the last general election.
“I asked the party leadership not to name three Muslim candidates, as it would create communalism in the area. But they did not listen. The party leader felt that naming three Muslim candidates would prevent me from receiving enough votes to enter parliament,” he said.
He noted that the party leadership did not pay any attention to a senior like him, who enjoys a steady vote base in the Kandy District and has also contributed funds to the party. “Regardless of who contests from the UNP, my vote base is in tact,” he said.
During the vote on the extension of the state of emergency held in parliament on Wednesday (5), Cader voted in favor of the regulations with the government while sitting in the UNP.
Meanwhile, UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake on Thursday (6) said the party has called for an explanation from Cader, as to why he had voted with the government in favour of the emergency regulations.
These people should be chased from politics once and for all. THaving deceived their voters, abandoning principles shamefully cross over to the other side just for personal benefit.
I hope with the undated resignation letters they could be chased away!

But the appointment of his friend from the area DM would have prompted him to join the Govt. as there are enough and more struggles within the Grand Old Party without any visible signs of coming to power for a long time. To begin with Prophet Mohamed PBUH was illiterate could not write or read any languages but he spoke only Arabic and Old testament was translated into Arabic by Saadias Gaon in 900 C.E.(some 250 yrs after his death) Is it possible for him to copy it !

Refer encyclopedia Britannica; Pharaoh is a synonym for Egyptian King referring to “New Kingdom (starting in the 18th dynasty, 1539-1292 BC), and by the 22nd dynasty (c. 945-c. 730 BC) it had been adopted as an epithet of respect. not for Kings of Egypt at the time of Abrham, Joseph PBUT as in Old testament.

This is only my personal view.
the political leaders of the minorities must get together with the ruling parties. They have their common problems such as housing problem.land scarcity, not adequate schools for their children ete…ete.. The plantation workers have their proper prolems such as low income, living in dark lines( I called them kandian walaw) . The Basic Needs of those people should be satisfied by any regime in power.
The minorities have proved time and again that they have a role to
play in the greater interest of the country.They have done it and they
are still willing and ready to do it.But unfortunately they had to pay a
price for it.And the price is their dignity.The majority demands from
their leaders that minorities be restricted of their opportunities.
Leaders go to the majority and spread hatred to gain power and
such leaders can not go back to the majority for re election with a
different tone.
We are a multicultural society and minorities know this.But minorities are a strong society in our country unlike many other
countries.They are a bridge for Srilanka to the rest of the world.In the past, Kings and other rulers made use of this bridge to bring fortunes to this country which continues todate.But to the detriment
