Usain Bolt Falls Short In 300m World Record Attempt

Double Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt fell short of breaking Michael Johnson’s world record in the 300m at the IAAF World Challenge in Ostrava last week.
The Jamaican, 23, clocked 30.97 seconds in his first competitive attempt at the distance, 0.12 seconds over Johnson’s time.
However, Johnson set his mark ten years ago at altitude in Pretoria, where thinner air provides less resistance.
Bolt’s compatriot, Asafa Powell won the men’s 100m in 9.83 secomds, the fastest time over the distance this year.Powell beat the previous best time of the year, set by Bolt in Daegu, South Korea earlier this month, by 0.03 seconds.
“I’m very satisfied with the time,” said a delighted Powell. “The weather condition didn’t mean a lot. I feel good, I’m in good shape.”
Bolt’s attempt to break Johnson’s 300m record was hampered by wet conditions in the Czech Republic.
The tall sprinter obliterated the field as he powered through numerous puddles but came up against a headwind in the final straight.
He was left frustrated as he glanced at the clock after crossing the finish line.
“I’m not in the shape I was last year or the year before,” said Bolt. “If I was in a good shape I think I would get a record. The problem was I went too hard in the first 200m. The last 100m were too tough. This distance is a little different than 200m, you can’t compare it.”

If Maurice Greene was still running, bolt would be finished.

Obviously you are American without a doubt!! Just can’t accept the fact that someone that is non American can be that good, by breaking all the records that the drug induced Americans have been doing from time immemorial. Case in point, “Maurice Greene!”, Who by the way was setting all his records by being “juiced up”. Admit it, you just hating on Bolt because he is Jamaican…lol
