Wimal Threatens UN, Government Disavows
Minister Weerawansa and Dinesh Gunawardena, Chief Govt Whip
Earlier Housing Minister Wimal Weerawansa urged Sri Lankans to surround the UN office and hold its staff hostage until the advisory panel on Sri Lanka is scrapped (Daily Mirror). The government assured the UN that this was the Minister’s ‘individual opinion’. UN Associate Spokesman Farhan Haq said that the body had not mobilized against any immediate threat.
The UN office remains in a secured section of Colombo, a street which also contains the Defence Secretary’s home.
Oooh wonderful Wimal . You are simply the best . Why not suggest to go to war with the UN. God bless the the voters in Colombo who made you win with a highest number of votes. I presumed only voters in the outstations or rural could only be fooled, but it seems Colombo is no better. Dance while the music is playing….

What was your involvement in the fight against terrorist? Did you or any of your children joined the forces to eliminate the terrorism? I would rather see one of Weeravansas than 4.7 Millions of you. Your type are the ones that dances to the music palyed by the UN and west. Have courage and self respect as a true SriLanakan and be ready to value our sovereignity than the loans and aid they offer in exchange for our self respect. Keep our problems and differences within SrIlanka . Don’t wash your dirty linen in public!!.

Our Hon.President must get stern action on these irresponsible rogue politicians. We need not any kind of enemy at this juncture and we must follow the “Middle Path” according to BUDDHISM or the “Non Aligned Movement”. The population is becoming poor day by day and the first thing we must assure is the good health conditions of the society.
Shows the calibre and educational level of the so called “patriots” who comprise this government. The President is in a similar positon as an ancient King who employed a monkey to care for him and how that monkey, in good faith, took a big stone and killed a fly who was disturbing the King in his sleep. At least that King was lucky as he had only one monkey to take care of, but this President is surrounded by a monkey army to advise and take care of him. If he were a king he could have easily used this Gel Wimal joker as the official Palace Joker. The funny thing is every time one of these jokers utter some foolish remark in public, the government comes up and says those are their personal opinions. How come, these monkeys are allowed to behave in this manner as it is not an Animal Farm or a Circus they are managing, but a Sovereign Independent Republic which needs to show to the civilised world that it is a responsible country in the world community. It is high time that stupid jokers like Gel Wimal are told in no uncertain terms what their briefs are. Honestly, I still cant believe that so many voters in Colombo District voted for such an uneducated, brainless nimcompooh who is suffering from a rare disease called “verbal diahhorea”.

What is wrong with individuals expressing their views and feelings? I am not condoning his actions but is it your view that we accept timidly US dominated UN to make probes into our internal matters?
Do you consider it proper for UN, which is a puppet of the USA to interfere in our affairs? Your analogy of the king is funny,cos’ if you look around there are lots of monkeys in other parties too without a hope in hell to be elected.
I never liked WW but on this occasion I applaud him. Wait and see what the sanga and the educated will do if this undemocratic interference continues. Would you then call the sanga idiots or jokers?
Old habits die hard, he used to take decisions of this nature during the insurgencies, he made this decision expecting the UN to be like our local police station… This clearly proved to the international community that it is how most decisions are executed inside Sri Lanka with insurgents and terrorists of this nature in the govt and no wonder they are coming behind us…. The govt just disowning without making him take responsibility for the statement shows the govt is entertaining and he can do similar act to its own citizens.
Now, atleast the world knows the true mentality of government ministers in Sri Lanka. In western countries this kind of speech, the public and journalists would have protested and ensured the minister resigns. Ministers are suppose to set good examples.

As a muslim I suggest you look around the world to see what the UN, UNICEF, WTO has done to the middle east. Open your eyes and heart before you mke slavish comments.
