Top Golfers To Compete In Colombo Championship

Four golfers, two men and two women, will represent Pakistan in the 123rd Sri Lanka Amateur Golf Championship in Colombo from July 24-30. Mohammad Ali Hai of Karachi, who is the reigning national champion of Pakistan as well as the title holder of Bangladesh Amateur Golf Championship, will be accompanied by Safdar Khan of Gujranwala who finished as a runner-up in the 2010 National Golf Championship of Pakistan.
Both the players have a handicap of 2 and 1 respectively and have already participated in a number of national and international golf tournaments. The ladies team comprises of Ghazala Yasmin and Tahira Nazir. Riaz said that Ghazala, the current ladies’ national golf champion, belongs to Lahore Garrison Golf Club while Tahira hails from Rawalpindi Golf Club. Ghazala is to make her debut for Pakistan whereas Tahira has previously competed for the country in several ladies’ tournaments abroad. Nayyar Afzal has been appointed as the manager of the squad.
