Two-Day Workshop For Govt. MPs In B’tota

  • President Also To Attend

By Mandana Ismail Abeywickrema

A two-day workshop attended by President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to be held for governing party members of parliament next Saturday (7) and Sunday (8) in Bentota to discuss the government’s future plans.

The Sunday Leader reliably learns that the workshop is to be held at the Riverina Hotel in Bentota, while the UPFA legislators are also to be lodged at Riverina and the adjoining hotels.
The governing party members are to arrive in Bentota on Friday (6) evening.

UPFA General Secretary and Petroleum Minister, Susil Premajayantha, confirmed the workshop to The Sunday Leader and said it is aimed at giving an insight to the MPs of the government’s many development programmes and to educate the over 50 odd new governing party legislators of the parliamentary functions and the standing orders.

He also noted that UPFA MPs would also be assigned to various ministries to educate them on the functioning of ministries and to coordinate work programmes with the relevant ministries.
“The MPs can then coordinate work at the ministries and work together with the relevant ministers,” Premajayantha said.

Good! More important is discipline-punctuality-and adherence to truth-

Also must not forget the important age old tenent:
    EXAMPLE IS BETTER THAN PRECEPT.

Also remember to teach them what that means!!

  2. The final outcome appears to see only parliament members and statutory control provincial political members to look after the land but no people to live on. Sometimes it may be needed to import human resources from India and other South East Asian countries. That is what happening in Sri Lanka. One thing is Tamils are leaving the country and most of Sinhalese are dying due to malnourishment and unemployment.

For long period some institutions are under HE President
As a normal Minister he cannot attend, but they are
looked after by appointed state officers & President Office
But institutional Officers have untold issues to resolve with
Minister, as state Officers run the institutions as if their own.
At Least send HE President’s son or Brother once a month
to interact with institution (all)staff to raise untold issues
that is taking place for the last 4-5 years now this time by
    state officers.

have a better hearing for all opposition
MP’s including Tamils & Muslims, non
    Sinhala speaches and More importantly
    victimized and grilled MP-SF
If not for his machinery leadership & support
to H.E.the President & Mother Sri Lanka
    we are still undergoing difficulties
    faced during war.

    Why the hell they can’t have it at the parliament saving money on hotels? Are they going to have some fun there and a bit of swimming lessons at the hotel pool etc;

politics has become a good business. to run that business, you need to have good strategy. It doesn’t matter whether you do good things or bad things to the country. If you have a good strategy, you can survive in politics. In other words, strategy is more important than honesty!

Two day work shop to teach ‘how to rob the public but never get caught’

Teach the members How to behave first as citizens of a country. Teach them some basic manners . Most of them are ignorant of proper manners. Atleast teach them spoken English starting at the top. Give them some knowledge of World politics as some are like frogs in the well when it comes to International politics, mostly teach them how to keep their mouths shut, when they are ignorant of the subject

What a waste of money , you may not be able to teach thgem anything because they have very little uptake, but they will take to water like ducks if there is wine and women around. They are a disgraceful lot.
