Ceylon Teachers Union Protests To Demand Salary Arrears

The Ceylon Teachers’ Union (CTU) has organized a protest outside the Colombo Zonal Education Office today (4) demanding the payment of salary arrears.

CTU convener, Joseph Stalyn said that teachers would protest outside the Colombo Zonal Education Office at 2 p.m. demanding the payment of arrears in their salaries for the past five years.

Stalyn said that although numerous requests had been made from authorities to pay the salary arrears for five years.

“This is the final resort. Authorities have not paid any attention and we have decided to protest outside the education office,” he said.

    What a pity, 5 yrs in arrears. They have all the rights to protest.

    Our Rogue Ministers are going on extravagant spending spree, such as cabinet meeting in Killinochi & Bentota beach hotel etc.
    Duty free vehicles, Housing loans etc.

    The best way to get back back your arrears is to vote again for Rajapakse and Company whenever there is an election.
