Mervyn Exits The House

Former Deputy Minister of Highways Mervyn Silva left Parliamentary proceedings, after interrupting an Opposition MP during oral question time earlier today.

UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekara was quizzing the Ministry of National Heritage and Cultural Affairs on the maintenance of the World Heritage site, Sigiriya rock. Jayasekara queried whether chemicals had been used to chase away the wasps which nest on Sigiriya. The Ministry denied this strongly.

Jayasekara then quizzed Deputy Minister Gunarathna Weerakoon on a project to construct new toilet facilities at the summit of the rock. Weerakoon said that he knew of the project but had put a stop to it. “There was demand from foreigners to construct facilities at the top of the rock. The climb to the top and back is very long, hence the request,” Weerakoon said. However Weerakoon said once he had found out about the project he had terminated it.

While this exchange was taking place MP Mervyn Silva began to interrupt Jayasekara. However he was shouted down. “The door is there… at the back” was heard, apparently from the Speaker’s chair, as Silva left the House. The Opposition side applauded loudly as he exited.

At last, at last (I hope!) it is good riddance of very bad rubbish.

    • No haste izzy. MR family cannot efford to loose Mervyn. MR and his family is greatly in fear of this MS. If rejected, MS would spill the beans!!!

      • Reality

What beans can Mervin spill. Moreover who cares????????

        • spinner

Reality change ur name to fantacy, thats suites u, becos u fantasise MR regime would do magic. what he Mervyn can spill?? many things buddy.
i will tell u one – he can come out with the last presidential election results, how they manipulated the computers and how they kept the 66% against 33%. no need rocket science any fool can understadn it. This will come out anyway in future.

        • solo

Mr Beans to the Mr Bean(Ranil)

        • Who knows. But it will be a bestseller if they are ever to spill!

        • Lord

We the masses know the entire bean story of our leaders. But it will carry lot weight when it will come from the horse’s mouth directly. MR & Bros cannot afford to lose MS as he is capable of changing colors as done in the past too.
More-over he is a living/good example of rages to riches by virtue of employing the most powerful tool that is associated with our Govt ‘THE CORRUPTION’

      • Ferdy

who cares about Merv’s beans ???

    • Lalo

MY GOOD THIS FOOL LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE A MONKEY!

    • jayalal

i look this in a different way..i know his methods are not so famouse.i too agree he has done many things in anger and hurt many people.but having said that he has a way of getting things done his way.i belive this is a scripted drama.what ever it is he is trying to get something done.he is making an effort.best ministry for him would be public administration.every govt office is currept and they are finding reasons not to do thire job to innocent people.for even small docs innocent civilians waste thire time in govt offices.so if mervy comes theire can be probs but i think he can make the change sri lanka require in our govt services..

      • saro

If every govt officer is corrupt as you say, then what about our politicos? Anyway it is good to set a thief to catch a thief do you as long as he catches him!!

You really have fat hopes of MS changing Sri Lanka’s govt service? He’ll make more thugs who’ll lick his boots rather than any reforms in the govt. service

  2. Eluva the Goat

Dont come again please. wish he is gone for good.

  3. sarath ayyia (peliyagoda)

I HOPE ITS FOR GOOD….KELANIYA JANTHAWA VENUWEN MEVIN KARANA LOKUMA SEWAYA…(m……oooo…..s…..a..l..a..y…a.)

On second thought, could this be a part of the already scripted drama????

  5. Tiny

    Never to come back ?????

  6. ballu

We have given this country to bunch of jokers and criminals
    1) Jokers – WW, DR etc
    2) Criminals – MR
    3) Fraudster – MR, Bandulla

    • Banji appu

So long the nation remains with their stupidity of election of those guys again and again, the country will remain like this in the years to come. …

    • bernard

      I like to add
      4) Crooks
      5) Con Artists
      6) Greedy
And the credit goes to… none other than the leader who possess all the above traits “MR” who was successful in attracting them to his side.

      • spinner

        And the list contd……
        7) Plonkers
        8) Gits
        9) IRCs
        10) Cheats – Who have no moral, conscience, regret, thanks to a person sitting on top ‘MR’ without any vision and full of jargon. All he does with his magnificient X number of crooks is taking SL too an abyss.

  7. KandyGuru

He should be sent to Afghanistan or Pakistan. He does not deserve a place in this beautiful country.

    • saro

I am sure, MR would certainly punish him of course for his misdeeds and that is…………..he will send MS as an Ambassodor to some country and give him all perks and benefits that go with the appointment.

Here in our country, we punish only the patriotics and give promotions to those who kill

  8. Ranjana

You are an insult to the other MPs, Hence please keep away forever

  9. Banji appu

MR could sack this man long ago, but how can we the nation expect from him to sack the worst, while the worst of the worst could be his brothers and the relatives that ve been appointed for diplomatic missions.. Even a 10 year old of the nation would say, what Mervin – the thug is not a good politician – but MR and the co. had never been in the same in opinion. Country goes back to 89 era in which thousands of country´s youth went missing. – we thought the era would never be back in place, but today, saying something else and doing somethign totally different – there has not been a respect for anyone in the country… After all the manner that SF has been treated by their so called law machineries is being criticised by the entire world. :… hope not that the country will be listed under so called black list of the rest- and wondering how he could leave fine speech in the UN general assembly in next month.

  10. Mervyn is a man of principles, that’s why he left. It is like a kanepara on Chamal

  11. ballu, please name them

have given this country to bunch of jokers and criminals
    1) Jokers – WW, DR etc
    2) Criminals – MR
    3) Fraudster – MR, Bandulla

Who’s this Bandulla – Bandula Gunawardane?

  12. garawi

Well done the speaker! It is encouraging to see a gentleman politician back in the speakers seat who had the guts to stop nonsense in the parliament. The previous one was so weak he used to grin at Mervyn’s mockery. I hope this attitude of the speaker will teach a lesson to all misfits and the parliament will again be a place that work for the people. I being in my latter part of my life am very happy to see things turning around for the better.

    • bernard

Agree. Actions of Mr. Chamal Rajapakse as the Speaker clearly shows he is far superior to the previous wimpy Speaker. I think Mr.Chamal Rajapakse would have done a better job not only as the Speaker but as the President.

  13. Reality

At last we have person fit to be the Speaker in the chair not just a jester picked up from the crowd of jokers.

  14. Susatha

Hope he has killed all the dengues in the house before he left.

  15. M.R. is about to send MS to govern Menik Farm, whereas he is sure to do a fine job tying up poor Tamils onto trees.

  16. Mervyn will come..As much as we all would have hoped that he would fallen into the oya outside the parliament, this cursed pest and parasite has the knack to suck up real good and beg shamelessly to come back…If he does, Mahinda will reconfirm our thoughts about how much he fears Mervyn and no doubt under obligation to him.
    Over to you MR.

  17. Sathosa Manager

Ane Sathose karawala kirapu ekaata giyapu kalak. As par as I know he didn’t complete his studies but now.. is a doctor.

    • That is one of the better jobs he did..He had to suck up and panadang all the ministers to get a place.
The crook shamelessly is trying to teach people when he is so un-educated..Doctor my bloody foot…He would not be able to spell the word.

  18. Sumithrayo

When will our people grow. After climbing down the Sigiriys you can see many locals relieving themselves on the rock. This is why the proposal to build the toilet facillities taking into consideration the environmrental pollution and stench. Why do politicians make a big issue and let the people attend to a nature’s call peacefully. I thought dayasiri was mor sensible than the rest. shows that all politicians are dumb mutts.

    • bernard

No wonder, that’s why Sigiriya bees (bambaru) are mad. Even if you build toilets our people will urinate and defecate out side the toilet. BTW has any one fallen of the rock?

  19. sarath

Expulsion of Honourable Deputy minister from his ministerial post and membership of SLFP is one one of the biggest mike done by Mr president.Former deputy minister is brave talent and straightforward and done numerous sacrifices to bring Rajapaksa clan into power. Please give him back his ministerial post.

    • saro

Dont worry, he certainly will get a better post since MR cannot and will not get rid of him that easily. Although he may be a parasite to many, he is MR’s favourite in parliament

  20. warriorking

A fair treatment for a man worse than a savage animal, justice will be served to you one day Mervyn..till then u can dance..

  21. wanted man

Most respectable and strong leader according to my knowledge is President Mahinda Rajapaksha but problem is he action agaisnt Dr. Mervin Silva Matters are very slow and no appropriate actions were taken by him over many occassions. For me and most of them are feeling whats is reall story behind scene with MR and MS but until now no one has find out, day by day even decipilinary actions are going agaisnt Dr. Mervin also he do the same without any care. Problems for us why MR so silence against MS and why this much time were taken to shake him from the party and post of minister. Also he gor more than hundred thousand preferencial votes during parlimentary election which conluded recently. Its mean UPFA won by cheating both president and parlimentary election without any doubt. If someone like a mervin can win mean there are cheating took place with the knowledge of Election Commissioner. No body can put poverty off in srilanka until this world end.

  22. Ajith

Mervyn, please my friend, don’t go away mad. Just go away!

  23. funny fonniya

He might go away. But Chandarika will be willing to take him back. She is waiting for her chance to bite back at MR.

  24. Gonaraja

what will happen to the KUDU LAL. Will he be brought back? I bet ..MS will be back soon from the front door..

  25. Suwimal

Did Jayasekera ak about the mansion (holiday bungalow) being built on the knuckles? If not why?

  26. Chamal should not have treated Mervyn like that. Everyone is entilted to say in the Parliament

    • pemma

IMHO “entitled to say” is not the same as “began to interrupt”

‘While this exchange was taking place MP Mervyn Silva began to interrupt Jayasekara’

  27. Mervyn Silva – one of the best politicians to have come up in sri lanka, may be after r premadasa

    • saro

OMG What a comparrison? Premadasa did not open his mouth unnecessarily like this idiot and moreover How could you ever compare MS to Premadasa. What has this man done? He is only capable of killing mosquitoes for all we know.

  28. P.L.J.B.palipana

My persones view is that Mervin Silva has a predetermined Political Vission. During the implementation he had to face this situation. please note that our government employees are very lazy. Any manager could be X type or y type(McGregar consistancy theory). Mervin’s Mission was correct for me personally.

    • saro

You are right, but couldnt he have thought of geting the job done in a better way than humiliating the officer even if he had not done his job

      • Yeah! U R right. Mahatma Gandhi said “Nothing wrong in having a higher noble ambition but the PATH TO ACHIEVE IT MUST ALSO BE NOBLE” MS’s ways are always bullying and brutal with the help of his ‘thugs’. Inflicting ‘fear psychosis’ is his modus operandi. Is there any one in SL who is INSULTED by the whole nation like this Mervyn Silva (except the other is his son)? MS can be the darling of MRs but surely the garbage of SL.

  29. Oh, we will miss this guy if something ever happens to him!

  30. Get Lost Mervyn ..We all have had enough of you and have actually got sick and tired of being sick and tired of you.
‘Now you just make us want to vornit…..

  31. Wije silva

    The Dr Thug

  32. Mervin Silva – Saviour of Kelaniya

  33. jayalal

good news..mervin is relse of his charges..this is the time to give him government servents ..he should be given that ministry to shake it up in conventinal or unconventional manner so our country will have a future.gvt dpt and agencies together with govt servents are the worst who drags sri lankas economy backword.this guy may be the prmadasa this country looking for..hope he will be that MAN for our country…
