MP Fails To Substantiate Allegation

UNP Member of Parliament and President’s Counsel Mr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe, who made allegations of corruption against a certain government minister during Tuesday (17) parliamentary session, refused to disclose names, places and other details when contacted by the Sunday Leader.
He claimed that the minister in question demanded a commission against a Japanese entity that offered to build USD 850 million worth of housing for communities threatened with elephant rampage and which are in constant fear of elephant attacks.
He told the Sunday Leader that the entity in question was a Japanese NGO and that the incident in question happened about 3 years ago. However, he said that further incriminatory details will be submitted to the Speaker in due course and cannot be revealed as yet.
It remains to be seen of the MP will follow through on his word as the public’s right to information and justice in the case has still gone unfulfilled.
an earlier draft referred MP Rajapakshe as a Minister when he is in fact an MP

Why do you call Wijedasa Rajapaksa a minister in thins artilce?? Is’t he a opposition MP only?
There are things that happened 03 years ago and beyond……
There will be many an incident of this nature by the Govt as well those in the Opposisiton.
This Wijedasa was a genuinely concerned of corruption, point out such matters that is taking place currently.
This is just another mud slinging exercise.
What has happened has happened………….
Hello Wijedasa, let focus on the present.
You need not stirr up past stinks… Move on with the future and look to the future.
WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY IS HISTORY.
Pure Tabloid Journalism
This is another attempt to tarnish someone’s image. If you cannot disclose the facts don’t talk about it. Wijedasa is trying a lawyer’s trick here, to create doubt and suspicion among the people against the government and its ministers. I think the people are matured enough to understand this sort of bankrupt, irresponsible politicians. Wijedasa should apologize in the parliament and withdraw his statement unless he can prove it.
Its very simple to find out who asked for 10% commission from the Japanese, the person is known as Mr. 10%. Wijedasa is reluctant to name the person becouse of the white van, now Mr. 10% is behind all the white van incidents.
3 years ago he himself was with the Govt. May be this is a confess by himself.
Is this Investigative or thrash Journalism.
Why did Wijedasa give the slip ??????
If you fear do not talk….. If you are brave goahead……..
Its like the “kokatath thailaya” for all ailments.
He says that he will give details to the speaker in due course, and cannot be revealed now, Fair enough.
Agree with comment from Jerry.
