Mervyn And Other Silvas
From the media we gather that Mervyn Silva has at last been booked. Looking at the past history of Mervyn Silva, it could be said that Silva took a leaf from the lamppost killings of the LTTE, when he tied a samurdhi worker to a tree.
From the latest reports from Kandy, we learn that a gang of persons have gagged and tied up an Advanced Level student at the Kandy Girls’ High School examination hall. Perhaps the gang had learnt from Silva. Silva’s behaviour over the years has defied the rule of law. According to my information, like Nalanda Ellawela’s ginger group, there is a similar group in the SLFP today. With 65% of our people being under 35, this group is very angry with Silva’s antics.
However, will the government of Sri Lanka respect its decision to remove Mervyn Silva? The value of the pudding is in it’s eating. Will the breaking news about Silva last?
There are many Silvas in our country today. All of them must be booked. Unless from the top there is respect for the rule of law, we as a nation will not grow. All of us in Sri Lanka today belong to at least one of the world’s faith communities. All of our communities have values. Aren’t the Silvas of today, products of our homes, of our education and our faith communities?
Something has gone wrong somewhere. We need to examine our values as a nation. All the people from Point Pedro to Dondra Head must examine their lives on the values of our faith communities. Then only can we change. Then only can there be any economic development, for without morals and ethics, there can be no valued development.
In places like Myanmar, following the teaching of Plato, all rulers have to become Buddhist monks for a period of time.
Can this be done? Over to all Sri Lankans.

Can any one tell me where is the man who was tied to the tree now is? Is he still missing? What action has the Police and the Governent taken against the so called Doctor?
Read the news man.
He has gone into hiding after giving a written statement to Mervyn’s goons that the incident was ‘play acting’ and not real. This was provided to the kangaroo court which decided that he is not guilty.
All of the people becoming buddhist monoks will not work as it is evident in the attitude of the Sri Lankan monks such as protests on the street, vehimently demonstrating against other faith, hard political involvement, abandoned ‘pinna’ pathra and eating special cuisines in the hotels, driving Benz etc. etc.
NO NEED TO BECOME A BUDDHIST MONK
BUT
JUST FOLLOW BUDDHA’S PATH.
That will change Sri Lanka to deserve the name ‘nation of triple gem’. otherwise as at present SILVAs will play havoc forever.
No point becoming Buddhist Monks in Sri Lanka as the monks in SL are some of the worst in morals and ethics…How could yu expect anything when they are inclined towards politics and power…get involved in demonstrations in protest to support rogues and criminals..
Our badu supply kolla has been found NOT GUILTY ….. very soon MR will appoint him as Prime Minister???
All of the people involved in the current government including Monks, professors of the law, all ass kissers, rich and poor are cowards!
we need a meaningful, decent democratic system. In order to have that we need a revolution. One can expects some revolution is coming someday soon. It may not come from the high levels but from the grass roots, i guess.
Are the members of UNPback boneless to kick that phony the Ranil Wicky, the big looser? And find a man, a real man who has balls (testicles) who can win and lead this country and restore peace and order and fix our broken legal system, and have a real policing system. so that we can call Police instead of going to the Parliamentary Manthree to make our complaints. Can we let this country go to thugs and wait and watch? We need a leader who is not trying to build Taj Mahals for his wife, but do something for the suffering humanity in restoring peace and order more than anything else. we can live in poverty but with some dignity and respect as a decent and civilized citizens. Send all those Monkeys to jungles with some bananas attached on their necks!
