Another UNP MP To Vote According Conscience

UNP Puttalam District parliamentarian Palitha Range Bandara has said that he would vote according to his conscience when the vote on the constitutional amendments is taken up in parliament on next week.

The number of opposition legislators who would support the constitutional amendments that would be presented to parliament by the government is likely to increase with several more UNP members claiming they would vote with their conscience.

Range Bandara has been quoted as saying he would vote according to his conscience regardless of the party’s stance, as he would only consider the future of the country when casting his vote.

    What conscience? money talks!

  2. It’s not money. At least now some UNP ers can separate the chaff from the wheat. Look a the peace and the Mega projects done now. Had the terrorists being around they would have never taken off the ground. And they would have sent a few suicide bombers to Hambantota on the opening day of the Harbour.

It certainly is not the money, and they do separate the chaff from the wheat: you are absolutely spot on! But the problem is, they eat the chaff: which is true especially in this guy’s case. He asked Ranil to take action against his rival who assaulted him following the general election results for which there was no appropriate response from the big boss. He has already met the President once and now he’s following his “conscience”, or in other words taking the micky out of his boss when the boss is struggling to maintain order in the party.
It would be helpful if today’s adults think about tomorrow’s kids. MR did defeat the terrorists but pavying way to a future dictatorship is what he’s doing now. If MR is justifying these immoral constitutional amendments, he should first apologise the public for misleading them by thrashing JR’s 1978 constitution ever since it was introduced.
