Mervyn Warns The Media
A day after being re-appointed as Deputy Highways Minister, Mervyn Silva has reportedly warned the media at a function in Kelaniya today (9).
Silva has been quoted by the media saying journalists should not write in a manner that would ultimately force them to be hanged.
He had said that a certain newspaper will not sell without news about him and had called on the media to scold him if they must, but to report only the truth.
Silva was re-appointed as a deputy minister after he was cleared by an SLFP disciplinary committee over an allegation where he had tied a Samurdhi official to a tree.
More he attacks his opponents, more he becomes popular among his supporters. comments of bloggers, or even the articles written in sundayleader doestnot have much effect on such people
Merv the Perv does not care about any comments in the Sunday Leader! He holds the trump card to ……. and in case of any eventuality (God forbid) he has made arrangements to EXPOSE his Big Boss & Company. Indirectly one can call Merv the Perv as King of all Kings!

Good luck Hon.Mervyn Silva. please take over all the C and D class roads of the island to your Ministry( which was handed over to the Provincials Councils during December-1989). We confirm that you didn’t steal any single cent of the public wealth up to now. Following the Take over we will advice you how to organise the work(we will use this news paper for the explanation). Let E class roads under the pradeshiya sabas. Please note that you have to re-place majority of structures( culverts and bridges) in the Nuwara Eliya district. You could use enough expertise from the RDA (your ministry) to do those jobs.

Every despot needs a Hatchet man to get his dirty work done and after his usefulness has expired he will also be expired. This is the guaranteed end of all hatchet men , the will never live to a ripe old age as for one thing they know too much and for another they have made too many enemies and also they become a liability for their one time guardians.

Why are we so impotent to accept this type of insults. The government gives a good example how the powerful can get the verdict they want after any corrupt unethical behaviour. How on earth the government can maintain law and order with such behaviour. Now do not blame if JVPers start to lake law into their own hand again.
