A Dog Show With A Difference
The Bouwwa Show On Sunday, September 26
For years our pet pooches have had to sit in the side lines while their pedigreed cousins took centre stage at the prestigious dog shows in Sri Lanka. But every dog has its day and our local crossbreeds that equally deserve applause and awards will get theirs.
The Blue Paw Trust, an animal welfare organisation in partnership with the Colombo Municipal Council will host the annual Bouwwa Show on Sunday, September 26 from 10 am onwards at the Sathutu Uyana, Viharamahadevi Park Colombo.
This unique event is hosted annually to mark World Rabies Day and among the stalls will be a Blue Paw Trust stall showcasing important facts on rabies prevention and the exhibition of the mobile clinic.
The activity packed day will give free dog training tips, feature a puppet show titled Bouwwas Secrets, guest performance by the Service Dogs, a horse show, and Breed of Bouwwas exhibition. There will be a performance of circus trained dogs and a raffle draw among many trade and food stalls. Trophies and rosettes will be awarded to the first and second positions in each class while all participants will receive certificates. The day promises to provide great fun for both dogs and dog owners, Entrance is free.
