Creative Little Hands At Kindercare
Kindercare, the AMI certified Montessori School and Daycare Centre, held their Annual Arts and Crafts Exhibition, ‘Little Hands IV’, at the school premises recently. The exhibition, a key event in the school calendar, featured recycled items that were transformed into colorful works of art by little hands.
“Would you believe that a two-year old is capable in expressing himself through a work of art? A child needs to do more than study, curiosity and creativity also needs to be encouraged”, say Pat and Yumei, Directresses of Kindercare.
The children, ranging in age from 1-5 years, used their talent to provide a new lease of life to everyday items such as shoe boxes, yoghurt cups, containers, kitchen rolls, paper and empty cheese boxes. These usually discarded items were turned into beautiful jewellery boxes, vases, pencil holders, room tags, clocks, t-shirts, and many more.
“Children are full of creative ideas and an art and craft exhibition is an ideal way to help them express their inner needs”, says Habeera Lafir, Art Teacher at Kindercare.
