Monks And Trade Unions For SF
Monks and trade unions have now come forward to protest calling for the release of former Army Commander and DNA Leader Sarath Fonseka.
Buddhist monks led by Ven. Maduluwawe Sobitha Thero announced their decision to hold an Adhistana Pooja at the Mahamaluwa of the Dalada Maligawa in Kandy seeking Fonseka’s release.
The pooja is to be held on Thursday at 2.30 p.m., and organizers have invited the Buddhist clergy and the public to participate in the event.
Meanwhile, the UNP affiliated Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya (JSS) has organized a protest march on Friday (8) calling for Fonseka’s release.
The march is to commence from the Fort railway station.
The JSS has invited other trade unions to join the protest march walk organized by them for Fonseka.
Ranil will be totally out of target while this issue is on. Won’t he love this, whatever happens to Fonska. Enjoy Ranil. You are the luckiest of all!

Does he know that his hero threatened to hang Gota in Galleface green, send Mahinda to Welikada prison and court-martial army personnels who did not support him during his election campaign.

Chandra, what ever you have mentioned is only a drop in the ocean compared to what MR & bros have committed…. that is taking S.L back by another 100 years. Take all of them and can you without doubt say the wealth they have now is legally earned? What is the salary of the President or a Minister or secretary to a ministry? They were never born with a golden spoon! So………………………… who is un-patriotic? Not even the President of USA (either former or present) has accumulated wealth the way our Sri Lankan leaders pose. Our contingent to the UN meeting is above 100 and 8 floors from posh hotel was booked along with 60 plus limos hired. Where else, developed country did not have delegates more then 25. Who is paying these expenses? Loans taken from IMF. ADM, WB are only taking us backwards as we never try to settle or bring the existing debts taken these institution down instead only increase them. We Sri Lankan are paying for our karma committed either in our last or present birth.

The monks should play a vital part in this protests. Its the monks that created this demon , so its now for them to unmask him. Also the international community , especially should stop all aid to SL (IMF) and let this government feel the pinch. Based on human rights violations how could the IMF approve another loan installment. Foreign countries and freedom movements around the world should advise tourist not to visit the country, until democracy is restored and its citizens are treated in a human manner. Trade embargos should be made and all concessions should be withheld, until this rouge and corrupt government is made accountable to its people.
Adishtan pooja will bring in results only if performed by true practiotioners of the religion, not when performed by rogues in saffron robes

It seems like Sobitha hamuduruwo is going against his own leader Lord Buddha’s pholosophy. A prison sentence given to any individual is a result of Karma. How can anyone else go to prison on behalf of SF if he is the one who is paying for something he had done to deserve this punishment according to Buddhism. If you ask any religious leader he would explain why and how a person gets a prison term. Instead of treating the root cause how can monks and trade unions get him out of prison in the first place?
Going around with politicians is not the wise thing Anoma should do at this very moment. She should go around a Bo Tree and ask for mercy for whatever the Karma SF had committed to deserve this punishment. As long as SF and Anoma refuses to believe that this punishment is a result of a great Karma, there will be no escape. I think that’s what Ven Sobitha thero should preach if he knows Lord Buddha’s teachings well.
The Rajapaksa’s think they are above the law. This is pure vindictiveness, and an example for those who may “dare” run against them. It looks like nothing or no one can convince them that it is inhumane to lock Fonseka up like a common thief.
The Rajapaka regime have done away with democracy, human rights, and honesty in Sri Lanka, and installed a family dynasty that the people are forced to live with for generations to come. A President with term limits is now a dictator with unlimited terms.

According to Your karma philosophy please tell me when MR will go through his karma: If you think that SF has to go through it now: Do you think that MR is immune from all mistakes and wrong doing: Dear Do not you think that He did not do any manipulation in Presidential Election? Do you think that he well established his family dynasty in Srilanka? Do not you think 18th Amendment is just piece of constitutional legislation to manipulate in hi favour? All power is now vested in his hand to do what he want and when he wants and entire Srilankan nation is like slave in his hand: It is so called democracy but in name only:If you are with MR then you live in utopian country of Democracy so that you could get what you want. If you against MR then I’m sorry that you live in hell. That is Srilanka today.
Dear Lankan, How do I know when MR is going to pay for his Karma? I did not read his horoscope or I’m not a fortune teller. If he had committed any manipulation on election results, of course he will pay for it sooner or later. If he has appointed his family member only to ruin the country, then of course he will pay for the wrong doings. If 18th Amendment constitutional change is only for his own advantage, then of course he will pay for it too. If he is keeping all fellow citizens under his palm as a dictator like Sadam Hussain did, then of course people will find a way to get rid of him sooner or later proving that Karma has far more power than anything else. If MR had committed any crime let’s wait and see how he is going to pay for it as others do. The time will tell how, when and what the out-come will be. We’ll leave it to his fate.
My point was; Absolutely no one can pay for someone else’s Karma as the Sobhitha thera suggests. Being a Buddhist priest he should have known it better than an ordinary person like me. Instead of pointing finger at each other, this is a time to seek for religious help. Not just Buddhists. Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Catholics would do the same if anyone of their loved ones is in prison. I don’t see Sobhitha thera is doing anything to ward off SF’s Karma in this situation. Even though Anoma and SF’s supporters don’t want to here the word Karma, a prison sentence is a result of a Karma according to Ven Sobhitha thera’s very own religion.
