Illegal Cigarettes Shipment Busted (Photos)

Five people were arrested when they were discovered smuggling in a shipment of illegal cigarettes.

The haul, worth an estimated Rs. 3o million, was discovered in Seeduwa by the Excise and Narcotics Bureau. The cigarettes had been disguised as garments.

Photos show authorities ripping open the packaging to uncover the illegal stash.

    Now, will the illegal cigarettes go up in smoke or will it end up, at a later date, in the open market. Remains to be seen !!!!!!

    So what, Do the legal cigaret not cause cancer and lung disease?. All are same. a waste of time. Why dont these police catch smugglers bringing low quality stuff.

      the reason why the gov is tough is because they are produced with low quality tobacco and generally they do not have the filter. Also it is a huge tax revenue loss to the gov. but it remains to be seen which minister will benefit from the sales of these fags in the underground market.
