No More Reality Shows For UNP MPs?
The UNP’s Central Provincial Councilors have decided to propose to the party leadership not to permit party legislators to participate in television reality shows.
UNP Councilors are to decide on sending the proposal to the party’s Working Committee.
UNP Central Provincial Councilor Sanjeeva Kaviratne has told the media that the decision on whether to send the proposal to the Working Committee would be taken at a meeting of the group on November 10.
According to Kaviratne, those who are members of parliament, should refrain from participating in television reality programmes that would affect the honor and belittle the good name of the institution.
Closing the stable doors after the horses have fled? I think this is a most undemocratic act on the part of the UNP who scream to high heavens for democracy. I wonder what would have been their thinking if Dayasiri was crowned winner.Expel him from the party, or give him a promotion and a promise of the post of Minister of Entertainment in a future UNP govt?
