Grant Aid Down 48%

Government revenue and grants in the first nine months of the year increased by Rs. 49.7 billion (9.2%) to Rs. 592.5 billion. This included a grant component of Rs. 10.6 billion, a year on year (YoY) decline of Rs. 9.9 billion (48.3%). It also included a tax revenue figure of Rs. 511.4 billion, a YoY increase of Rs. 53.8 billion (11.8%) and a non tax revenue figure of Rs.70.5 billion, a YoY increase of Rs. 5.7 billion (8.8%). Meanwhile Government Expenditure & Lending Minus Repayments in the review period increased by Rs. 53.1 billion (6.2%) to Rs. 915.8 billion. This comprised a current expenditure figure of Rs. 711 billion, a YoY increase of Rs. 12.9 billion and a Capital & Lending Minus Repayments figure of Rs. 204.8 billion, a YoY increase of Rs. 40.2 billion (24.4%).(Source: Central Bank of Sri Lanka)
