Premier: Country Can Face Any Disaster

Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne stated that the country would be able to triumph over any future disaster with ease if every one stood together.

Jayaratne made this comment while addressing the National Safety Day was held at the Weerasingham Hall in Jaffna yesterday (26) to coincide with the sixth anniversary of the 2004 tsunami.

The Prime Minister has stated that the country was able to prevail the tsunami devastation because everyone acted without discrimination.

He has said that regardless of the ethnic divisions, everyone stood together when the country was hit by the tsunami.

Jayaratne has further observed that the country could triumph if there was ever another disaster if everyone joined hands and stood together.

    WHY NOT? ARE WE NOT FACING A DISASTER OR CALAMITY NOW
    WITH HIM AS PRIME MINISTER.
    THE LAST I HEARD OF HIM WAS WHEN I READ HE WAS THE ATTESTING WITNESS AT A WEDDING, AND HE HAD PLACED HIS SIGNATURE WHERE THE BRIDEGROOM SHOULD HAVE..
    WELL, THIS IS HOW THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY RUNS, WITH A PRIME MINISTER DOES NOT KNOW WHERE HE SHOULD SIGN.
