Costly Pol And Seeni Sambols

While the middle class people are facing the high cost of living the poor too are deprived of their pol or seeni sambol.

A kilo of onions is over Rs. 160 and a wood-apple size coconut sells at around Rs. 60 and sugar at over Rs. 110 a kilo. Can any sambol be prepared? Government gambol with the sambol of the poor.

We, in this country, are paying high prices for our own crops which are being exported.

Last but not the least it makes us laugh hearing the accusation of the minister for coconut when he said that the main reason for the shortage of coconuts is the JVP as they cut down coconut trees to place across the roads during their period of insurgency. People are no fools, dear minister.

The colossal expenditure (as shown in The Sunday Leader of 23/1) by the Minister of Posts and Telecommunication for his daughter’s wedding is not of his own. Supporters and well-wishers had gifted him everything lavishly and so it is for other ministers too. That is their explanation. As advising is easy the President tells us to tighten our belts.
