LLRC Report To Be Delayed

The Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) has said it would not be able to release the final report by May 15, as initially stated.

The LLRC stated earlier that the final report would be handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa by May 15.

However, the Commission has requested for more time from the President to submit the report since time was needed to analyze all written and oral submissions.

LLRC Media Spokesman Lakshman Wickremasinghe has told the media that the Commission is yet to be granted an official extension.

He has said the analysis and study of the written and oral submissions have not yet been completed.
