No Indian Pressure Says MR

President Mahinda Rajapksa today said that the Indian government has not placed any pressure on the Sri Lankan government on implementing the 13th Amendment.

Rajapaksa made this statement at a meeting with media heads at Temple Trees this morning when questioned about the matters discussed with the three members Indian government delegation that recently visited the country.

The President first responded with a smile saying the meeting with the Indian delegation was just a courtesy call.

The President then went on to say that it was a working visit and when the Indian delegation had met him, he had forwarded an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Manomhan Singh to visit Sri Lanka.

According to Rajapaksa, among the issues discussed with the Indian government delegation were India’s involvement in the construction of a coal power plant in Sampur, houses from displaced persons in the North and the railway lines.

He added that the delegation had also discussed issues related to the international community and its approach towards Sri Lanka on various matters.

External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris who was also present at today’s meeting added by saying that the Indian delegation had also met him and that there was no pressure whatsoever by them with regard to any issue.

A three member delegation comprising National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon, Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao and Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar visited Sri Lanka earlier in the month.

    Two possibilities

Indinan leaders fooling Tamil Nadu CM or MR fooling Srilankans. If you check the past MR got the world fooling award.

How come he didn’t talk about- Mother lanka and war heros here. Does he smoke. Remember he was treated by Dr.White. Any drugs test on MR.

He will say anything for survival.

  3. In my mind both MR and the Indians are fooling the entire world. Why the trio from India made a quick visit to Srilanka. What did they talk during the visit. MR says the trio did not pressure him for political solution. May be the trio came to tell MR that both parties may face the International investigation during the final stage of the war. We all know how MR fool us Srilankans.
