Govt. Decides Not To Pay Compensation

The government has decided not to pay compensation to people who build houses in disaster prone areas.

The government has announced that houses that are either damaged or destroyed by a natural disaster would not be compensated if it is located in an area identified as a disaster prone area.

Therefore, houses built in areas prone to landslides, on hilltops and in deep precipices will not be paid compensation if they are subjected to any natural disasters.

The government has already put in place a condition that National Building Research Organization (NBRO) approval is sought before constructing any structure in such areas.
