Rs. 250 Mn. Investment

Diethelm Travel Sri Lanka (formerly known as Hemtours) launched its new fleet of 40 cars valued at over Rs. 250 million to service Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo’s guests.
The fleet comprises 40 new Nissan Blubird vehicles.
“We have been in partnership with Taj for over eight years with the presence of our travel counters providing travel facilities to their guests.  Considering the tourism industry boom and arrival of up market clientele, we decided to upgrade our transport services at the hotel. Taj Samudra, with two more hotels operating in Bentota and Seeduwa will no doubt benefit from the new vehicle fleet where they could provide comfortable and safe travel facilities to their clients,” said Diethelm Travel Chairman Abbas Esufally.
“Today we have an upmarket client profile staying with us due to the introduction of the government’s minimum rate. The introduction of this new fleet of luxury vehicles will exceed their expectations,” said Taj Samudra Colombo General Manager and Sri Lanka and the Maldives Area Director Rohit Khosla. Diethelm Travel Sri Lanka is a Hemas Holdings PLC subsidiary, a leading conglomerate in the island with a focus on five key sectors-FMCG, Healthcare, Transportation, Leisure and Power Generation.
