UNP WC to discuss suspension

The suspension of the party membership of UNP parliamentarian Buddhika Pathirana and Western Provincial Councillor Shiral Lakthileka are to be taken up at the UNP’s Working Committee meeting scheduled for tomorrow (27).

The Working Committee is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the party headquarters Sirikotha.

UNP sources told The Sunday Leader that the suspensions of the members would be taken up for discussion among several other details related to the party’s future.

The pro-reforms group including deputy leaders Karu Jayasuriya and Sajith Premadasa have already objected to the suspension.

Sources also said that the party’s annual convention scheduled for December would also be discussed.

my imagination of Ban & MR meeting:
    MR: Good morning
    Ban: Good morning
    Ban accountability is very important
MR: what do u mean by that
Ban: we only need how many number have been murdered, how many have been massacred, how many have been extra judicially killed
MR: I have already appointed Late Accountability Commission. It wil bring up answers to your question
Ban: How long it will take?
MR: it is up to the commission
Ban: does it mean one year or two year?
MR: I already told you that it is up to commission
Ban: So you say you don’t have control over the commission
MR: Yes it is an independent commission paid by government
Ban: If the commission was appointed by you, and you have control over the government, then you do have control over commission
MR: I will allow any inquiry into war crimes
Ban: It is up to memebe state either to take action or not?
